I will announce which Tuesday in October as it gets closer, but I am planning on hosting another Tech Night in my garage.
The tentative itinerary would include:
1: Show off my air powered bike lift and laugh at my poor engineering while admiring my fabrication skills (or laugh at those too).
2: Swap enough parts from the Ebay Bobber to the Stray Cat 350 to see if it will run.
3: Fire up a GS650 that hasn't run in years just to see if we can, followed by a discussion on the pros and cons of (a) bobbing it (b) triking it (c) tracking it (d) ratting it (e) restoring it or (f) just leaving it in my shop for future tech night debates.
and time permitting...
4: have Jeff explain how he can shorten the forks of my IT400 for my drag bike project.  If we get Jeff started...

Sounds great Dennis.  Did you get the Honda and lift from Mike?  I am in Newfoundland Oct. 17th to 24th and hope I don't miss your Tech night.

The 26th just might work for me as I should be coming back from Kelowna about then. Also if anyone needs anything transported there or back that isn't too large I could haul some stuff. Hope to head down on the 21st. Call me and let me know. 250-847-6676. ttyl, Bob

Just thought I would remind everyone about my tech night tomorrow.  6:30 until not too late (it is a week night after all).  I will have a couple of batteries charged so we can attempt to fire up some old iron.

If anyone has a piece of 1" or 1.25" (outside diameter) tubing they can spare, bring it along.  I want to show off my latest tool.

I'll have beer, pop, and red wine for Clayton.

Wear grubbies.  I need hands and know how (or pretend know how, a.k.a. B.S.) to try to fire up the Stray Cat 350 with parts liberated from the Ebay Bobber.

I hope Jeff can make it.  I am looking forward to him waxing eloquently on how to shorten the front forks for my drag bike.

See you then, Peace & Grease, Dennis.

I had a great time last night.  After everyone left, I spent a some time in the garage smiling at the Stray Cat 350 and the Ebay Bobber with renewed vigor for the project.  After all the work I did last winter and spring on the Ebay Bobber, it was fairly depressing watching it self destruct in the two months I had it on the road.  Knowing that I have a viable motor to swap into it, I am looking forward to digging in all over again.

Now to figure out why the Guilt Trip 650 (a.k.a Suzuki GS650L) won't start...
