Extending Exhaust Pipes
« on: November 16, 2009, 01:41:31 PM »
I need to extend the pipes on my Honda 350 about 3 or 4 inches.  They are 34mm on the inside.   I was hoping to find a muffler bit like they sell at Canuck Tire where one end is squeezed smaller (to fit in the existing exhaust) and the rest of the tube is back to the original size.  I haven't been up there to measure what they have.

Does anyone have any ideas on extending an exhaust pipe?

I wonder if Gary at Harvey's Muffler would make something up for you.  I have found them very helpful there and they go out of there way to work with you.  Although I have not had anything made up for a motorcycle I am sure they could make something up for you.  MIght be worth your while to give them a call.

Good Luck

Crappy Tire can also be a good err.. cheap source of exhaust bits. they have a small section devoted to adapters, repair sections, chrome tips and even flex pipe for a cheesy appearance?

Actually I just completed this VERY thing...  I did find a 6" long X 3" Diameter section of Exhaust pipe @ Cambodian tire.  I then when over to a friends, who has a welder/Grinder, and Fabbed up my new pipe and extendend my mid pipe coming off the collector of the header to the Megapone end pipe.  It turned out great!  I 'm positive I saw the slip on style muffler pieces your talking about. They have all different  sizes there, up to 3" I think.  Plus you can do your X- mas shoppin while yer there !!  ;D  8)

MAC :)

PS; having acces to a welder was very nice indeed!!
