the Virago
« on: July 16, 2018, 01:09:02 PM »
Well charged up the 750 and rode it a few times no problem. Robbyn and I went for a ride Saturday night for about an hour.  We stopped off at Dairy Queen for some ice cream.  But when I went to start the bike it would not.  Lots of power put no starter.  Sounds like when the bike is left in gear and it shuts down the starter unless you pull in the clutch.  Fortunately I was on Damon Blvd and pushed it down the hill was able to get it bumped started about half way down.  So I was able to ride back up the hill to pick up Robbyn.  Now have to figure out what is wrong with it.  Must be one of the fail safe switches that has maybe failed?  Any ideas?

I have heard these bikes have starter problems, so there should be how to fix videos on YouTube.  That is a good place to start perhaps.

does the neutral light come on? Check fuses?  Will it crank if you short across the starter relay?

Maybe here....  https://www.viragohelp.com/virago-ignition-systems/
I live with fear and danger everyday, but sometimes I leave her at home and go motorcycling.

Thanks for info on the Virago.  We just got back from a trip to take our daughter back to Burnaby.  We went the long way though.  Kamloops, Salmon Arm, stopped at Dream Cycle, then to Princeton, Kelowna  and to Burnaby and Vancouver to see friends.  After going through Kelowna I have not desire of returning or even visiting.  Took an hour for a 10 minute drive.
