#530 chain and #50 chain swappable?

Chain broke on a bike I was working on, I was told years ago by a friend to go and find #50 chain and that it would be fine for my uses on my bike. From what I understand my bike takes a 530 chain and a #50 will fit but it is not a high speed chain.

Where does one find #530 or #50 chain intown anyway? I found #50 on the princess auto website but I don't really trust much from there, especially on a chain.

I would not use industrial chain on a bike. From my own experiance, i put a industrial chain on a suzuki t-250 ,which my son was riding at the time . Lasted one ride ,broke and smashed the case , caused me a lot of grief. It was a cheap fix that cost a lot of money.
  If you have trouble finding a 530 ,i have 2 spare 530 chains (o-ring) here . I can lend you 1 till you can replace.

I called cycle north for some other parts and by some great miracle they have 530 chain for a reasonable price with reasonable ratings. I appreciate the advice and offer but I will just wait the 3 days it takes this other chain to arrive.
