colouring carbs

has anyone out there ever tried or had carbs painted or coloured with success?

I had the inside of carbs change colour after using tax free gasoline.

Well, the factory painted the carbs black on all my '83 Suzuki's - I always thought it might have been Mikuni, rather than Suzuki, that painted them, as the paint didn't seem to last quite as well on the carbs.  Certainly do-able, though.

Suzuki managed to do it somehow with the 83 Gs 1100's....

When I picked up this Triumph....took a lot of work to get all the blue paint out of it....

After cleaning all the paint off from inside and out....The Amal carb runs Great now after being  set up properly....

Painting them and having them last would depend on preparation and the quality of paint used.  I am thinking a good industrial primer and paint would hold up well.  Rust-oleum should do the trick if you want to use spray bombs.  They call themselves an "ultimate industrial spray paint".

 Gas will eat up any paint thats not catalized( hardened).
