I live with fear and danger everyday, but sometimes I leave her at home and go motorcycling.

on second look, may not go old enough for you.  But for those with newer bikes.....

You just got an SRX?   600 or 400?  Those are cool bikes.  I wish the 600 was imported longer.  I keep my eyes open for a deal on an sr500 also.

It's a 400, 1985 and wanting some attention. runs fine but it would sure be nice to spend a winter just making it what it should be. Sure sounds great with an aftermarket pipe on it. Just put plates on it so can't wait to try it out.

It's on the BCClassicMotorcycleclub site under srx for sale. I don't know how to post photos yet and don't have any of my own to put on anyway. will give it a try some time. Can't be all that difficult, just haven't tried it yet.

Yeah, good on ya, Bob, for coming up with a very reasonably priced SRX, most of the ones I have seen advertised have asking prices in the $3500 range.  Mike Beswick is always able to come up with parts diagrams for Yamaha's, but he never sent me the link to that site.  Not much help for service specs anyway.  Surely you can still buy a manual from Yamaha for this model?  Not that old really, in the absolute sense, and the 600 was a multi-year non-grey import;  they should be out there.  Gary Ball has all the club's Yamaha manuals, you two were both at the last meeting;  hopefully if that scenario arises again, we can find out what the breadth and depth of that part of the collection is directly.
