I have a 1979 Honda cm400t that needs work, the problem is I’m not able to work on it and wouldn’t know where to get parts even if I could. Is there anyone that would be willing to work on it for cash? It has low compression in one of the cylinders and it also has an overheating problem.

I could take a look and provide some advise.  (I used to own one of these).  I don't want to be paid though.

Parts are available for these bikes and whatever the problem is, it's probably fixable.  However the owner may not be prepared for the cost of parts.  These old Hondas are not particularly collectible but they are pretty popular with riding schools--still, because they are so tough.

Let me know the guy's contact info.

Anyone able to work on a 71 Triumph? Or know of anyone with knowledge to do so? I’ve gotten as far as I can go. Need a little more wisdom. It’s got fuel, air and spark.

Thanks

General Discussion / Vintage Francis Barnet
« on: October 18, 2023, 04:56:37 PM »
Today, Wednesday, while in Northland Dodge doing my usual good deeds I was approaced by a gentleman named Rick Mintz who asked if I knew someone who may be able to help.
He has a 1947 Francis Barnett that he is trying to restore, it has the last of the Villiers Junior engines installed.
I told him about the club, the website, the forum and the members and invited him to attend the next meeting at the Legion and maybe talk to some of you there.
If you are aware of any information on this motorcycle please contact him at:
His email is rmintz@shaw.ca
Phone 250-640-8414
It looks like this only oder

Attention all Club Members
I have created a brand new Facebook page. This is separate from this forum and is an easy way for members to post their photos, buy/sell their stuff. I have it open only to members of the club at the moment to test the water’s and see how it goes.
General rules apply
No Advertising except for members to buy or sell their stuff.
No abuse of any sort.
Keep it clean
Admin(me) has the final and only word on who comes, who stays.

General Discussion / Missing in action
« on: July 16, 2023, 12:56:42 PM »
Apologies if I have missed the last meeting and not kept up with the world but, the wife had a fall that resulted in a broken fibula close to the thigh, this resulted in surgery, plate and screws, and a 10 day stay in the hospital hotel. Got her home and now trying to help her relearn how to walk. Think it’s going to be a long process.
Hope you guys are all well.

Watching the TT from the Isle of Man, Michael Dunlop just set a standing start speed record of 134 mph. And I remember the first 100 mph lap. Must be getting old.
On Rev TV at 4 pm each day.

sorry im late with this but if you want it testing take it to Bater Electric 22nd Avenue
Steve does all that sort of stuff.
I took my Fridge fan motor down there and he had a replacement on the shelf, saved a $1000 for the new fridge the repair guy said I needed.
