Title: Motorcycle hoard for sale, Chief Lk Rd
Post by: kaziff on August 24, 2024, 05:46:19 PM
Just had a call from Lindy who viewed a bunch of motorcycles going for "fire sale" pricing, mostly Japanese units, one harley.
This property was purchased with these bikes on it and the new owner wants them gone.
Anyone interested in a look?

Hello Guy - if anyone is going out there and can send a quick report on the Harley I'd be happy!

Hi Steve, haven't heard a peep from anybody else, I have a feeling the people in our group are past the point of being interested in repairing old bikes but they might surprise me if there is cause to go up and have a look I will certainly take a picture and let you know what's there

I would go out just for the heck of it if the time was suitable. Or is it too late?

I could go out there tomorrow (Aug 29) and have a quick look, take some pictures.  After that I'll be out of town until Sept 9 or 10.  Please text me the address.  Olaf

I went out and checked out the hoard.

The new property owner would like to get rid of the hoard (he's a young guy who doesn't know anything about motorbikes).  The property was a forclosure and the new owner has court documents that assign ownership of all vehicles on the property to him.

The hoard consists of fourteen old Japanese bikes (late 1970s to early 1980's), three Harleys, and a BSA Bantam in a speedway frame.  Two of the three Harleys are probably worthwhile for the owner to sell separately and there are 2 or 3 Japanese bikes that would be easy to recommission so could also be sold.  The rest of the bikes would likely take some effort and money to recommission or could be used for parts.

My thoughts are to put the guy into touch with New Life Cycle in Williams Lake or the used bike parts place in Langley.  But, maybe some of our club members would like to make an offer on one or another of the bikes in the hoard.   (for example there are two Honda 400 Hawks that could provide parts for Shep's friend's bike and for Steve's Honda 400)  Looking for suggestions.
