Title: Motorized Bicycle
Post by: Dennis on March 22, 2021, 02:07:38 PM
I built this many years ago.

I started with a $110 Canadian Tire single speed bike.  I added the girder forks, front drum brake, headlight, seat, rear rack, leather panniers and a 60cc two stroke kit; all from Ebay.  Assembled in my kitchen and living room.

After years of riding around town dodging cops, it is being relocated to Pineview where I can tear up the country roads.

The cheap bicycle wasn't built for the stress of an engine and cruising along at 40 km/hr and the rear bearings have failed before.  They failed again.   I was actually riding it in this condition.  No bearings left on the left side (engine drive sprocket), and a couple missing from the right side.

Put back together and ready to rip.  The bearing race is damaged on the left side.  I just packed it well with grease and tightened it up.  Hopefully, just like playing bass, it'll find its "groove."

Peace & extra Grease, Dennis

funny, after several blown head gaskets and much dorking around.  mine found its way to the dump last fall.  As I was offloading it, some kid asked if he could have it and it was loaded directly into his dads truck.  same bike, same motor.  I believe Laurie won a trophy with it in vernon.
