So.. I put in the mikuni carbs.. man that thing runs like a new bike... I have to tweak them of course... and figure out the "free play" thing... when parker did that on my other carbs. .if i twisted the throttle the power was there NOW ... its not there after i did it.. so obviously i don't have something set right.
I emptied the gas out of the kheins... and they are now stored in my shed (spare parts i guess)
Tomorrow is ride a harley day.. so i may go do that for bit... other than that weekend was good.. saw stephen last night, always good to see him

Try a V-ROD. Now that Buell is gone it is the most interesting one. CHEERS.

So, before I say anything... I dont want to offend Harley owners, so if you own a Harley.. no offense personally to you.
I rode a bunch of Harleys today never the same one... and I can honestly say I don't get it. They ride like shit... i think all my teeth are still in my mouth thankfully from the vibration I receive from it. I cant say I would EVER spend that kind of money for a bike... i mean i get it has its following and stuff, but those who know me well enough, know I follow no one. Lets talk comfort.. er I mean .. LACK of ... holy man im sore from riding those bikes.
The night rod was an okay bike.. it was much better than any other I tried, but again for the money.. im sure I could get two Kawasaki, Yamaha, or Honda.
Anyway, at least I can verify and say yes I have rode a Harley, and yes I still hate them.

30 years ago I told some buddies I was riding with ( new 82 wing, a v65 saber, and my fxr) that each bike has its own niche. Today I still feel the same way. My feelings are:
82 wing...comfy and smooth, :D
fj1200/zx12r ....fast..oh joy, ;D
82 fxr ...slow,rattly, poor brakes etc...with a coool old fat guy on it. :)
